BARTOW, FL – A driver of a Chevy Trax tried to turn left at an intersection and struck a cyclist, who succumbed to fatal injuries Wednesday. 

This collision occurred before 6:30 a.m. at the North Broadway Avenue and State Route 60 junction, WTSP reported. The cyclist was only identified as a 51-year-old woman. 

The Chevy driver, an unidentified 65-year-old woman, was unharmed.

TAMPA, FL – A southbound lane at the East Dr. MLK Jr. Boulevard and I-275 junction is blocked due to a collision reported after 6:40 p.m. Thursday. 

Florida Highway Patrol arrived at the scene at approximately 7:17 p.m. and are still on site. They are examining the circumstances of this crash and have not disclosed any other information at this time.

NORTH SARASOTA, FL – Sarasota Police are investigating a crash at 18th Street and Gillespie Avenue that injured at least one person Thursday. 

Police arrived at the scene after 4:30 p.m. It is not immediately clear what led to this collision, how many vehicles and people were involved, or if anyone was injured. More information will be provided should it become available.

RIVERVIEW, FL – A 50-year-old man died after his Toyota SUV was struck by a Land Rover SUV motorist who failed to negotiate a curve on an I-75 off-ramp Thursday. 

This collision took place around 11:40 a.m., just before State Road 60, according to ABC Action News. The impact of the crash led the Toyota SUV to overturn, which ejected the 50-year-old man. Both vehicles made their way into a grassy shoulder before coming to rest in the northbound lanes on the highway. 

First responders rushed the man to a hospital, where he later died. The Land Rover driver, a 56-year-old woman, was unharmed.

DOWNTOWN TAMPA, FL – Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a hit-and-run crash reported at the West Fortune Street and North Wc Macinnes Place junction Wednesday. 

They arrived at the scene a few minutes ago. At this time, they do not have any information on what led to this crash or information on the suspect and their vehicle.

RIVERVIEW, FL – Hillsborough County deputies are on the scene of a crash at Causeway Boulevard and South Falkenburg Road that injured at least one person. 

Deputies are investigating the specifics of this collision and have not said if impairment, speed, distracted driving, or other factors were at fault.

TAMPA, FL – At least one person sustained injuries in a collision that happened on the 4714 block of Causeway Boulevard in the Palm River-Clair Mel area Tuesday. 

Hillsborough County deputies arrived at the scene before 5:30 p.m. They are examining the circumstances of this collision and have not provided more details at this time.

EAST TAMPA, FL – The hit-and-run driver responsible for hitting a cyclist (who succumbed to fatal injuries) last Tuesday, on October 24, in the College Hills neighborhood has turned herself in. 

Tampa Police told FOX 13 News that they arrested 28-year-old Dameisha Tyana Cesar and booked her into the Orient Road Jail on Friday, October 27th. 

Cesar has been charged with driving without a valid driver’s license and leaving the scene of a crash that resulted in death. Her driver’s license was suspended in June of 2013 and then again, a couple of times, in 2015.

RUSKIN, FL – A 59-year-old man died after he lost control of his truck and crashed into a ditch off U.S. 41, leading his vehicle to roll over several times Saturday. 

This single-vehicle collision took place near Valroy Road, according to ABC Action News. The Ruskin man was pronounced dead at the scene. It is not immediately clear what led him to lose control of his vehicle. 

Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the specifics of this crash and did not disclose any other information at this time.
