SARASOTA, FL – A 71-year-old adult died, and several were injured following a multi-vehicle wreck caused by a driver who ran a red light Tuesday. 

Florida Highway Patrol told My SunCoast that the collision happened at U.S. 301 and Northgate Boulevard. After the driver ran a red light, their car overturned after colliding with three vehicles that stopped at the red light and then rear-ended one of the automobiles. 

The passenger inside the overturned vehicle, a 71-year-old adult, died at the scene. FHP does not publicly identify the names of those killed in motor vehicle collisions but was able to confirm that the occupant was from Bradenton. 

SARASOTA, FL – Sarasota Police confirmed one person suffered injuries in a collision that happened before 2:45 p.m. Friday near Lakewood Park. 

This crash took place at the Bay Street and South Tamiami Trail junction. Police have not specified the contributing factors behind this collision or revealed the kind of people and vehicles involved.

SARASOTA, FL – A school bus driver and a Ford Bronco motorist were taken to a hospital after their vehicles collided at Clark Road and South Beneva Road Wednesday afternoon. 

FOX 13 News said that among the 35 students on board, four students received medical attention. Although it is unclear what the extent of their injuries was, nor did officials provide an update on the conditions of the drivers. 

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office closed all the lanes on Beneva Road. They started an investigation and have not included other information at this time. 

SARASOTA, FL – Sarasota Police were dispatched to a crash at the North Tamiami Trail and Gulfstream Avenue junction along Gulfstream Park Tuesday. 

Police arrived at the scene after 6:20 p.m. They are trying to pinpoint the events that led to this collision and have not specified the kind of people and vehicles involved or said if anyone was injured.

This crash occurred at the intersection of University Parkway and U.S. 301. At the time of the report, Sarasota Traffic had not announced any lane closures. Florida Highway Patrol and local authorities also had not arrived at the crash site nor provided commentary regarding the circumstances that led to this collision. It was also unclear whether anyone was injured.

This crash took place at the Fruitville Road and Oakwood Boulevard intersection.
