SARASOTA, FL – A 49-year-old man riding a motorcycle fell off his bike and died after colliding with a car Thursday, WFLA said.

This collision happened before 9 p.m. at  Fruitville Road and Paramount Drive. Florida Highway Patrol, who responded to the scene, said the crash occurred when the driver of the red car tried to turn left on Fruitville, leading the motorcyclist to hit the left side of the car and the wheel to become attached to the car.

Troopers started an investigation and have not released other details at this time.
