News UPDATE: TPD confirms more details about crash caused by DUI driver

TAMPA, FL – The Tampa Police Department has released more details regarding the collision that claimed a man’s life outside Carrabba’s Italian Grill Tuesday. 

The restaurant is located at 700 North Dale Mabry Highway. This collision happened after 9:30 p.m. Tampa Police told WTSP that the DUI driver had struck a man who slept outside the restaurant. 

The man suffered fatal injuries at the scene. Tampa Police also said prior to running over the man, the impaired motorist, identified as 30-year-old Angel Manuel Molina, sped down the southbound lanes, changed lines, and then hit a power pole. 

Police arrested and charged Molina with DUI manslaughter, as well as driving with a suspended or revoked license, refusal to submit to testing, and DUI with property damage or personal injury.”
