ENGLEWOOD, FL – A man from Englewood is facing manslaughter charges in connection to a crash that claimed the life of a motorcyclist in Englewood on Thursday evening.
According to a report by ABC News, an SUV was attempting to make the left turn from Indiana Avenue onto 1st Avenue shortly before 7 a.m. when it collided with the southbound motorcyclist.
The rider, a 19-year-old man from Englewood, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. His identity is being withheld pending further investigation.
The driver of the SUV, 46-year-old Michael Burke Risley, was arrested after showing signs of impairment at the scene. He was booked into the Sarasota COunty Jail on a DUI manslaughter charge.
