News: Man, 78, dies after auto-pedestrian wreck in Oldsmar

by

OLDSMAR, FL – A 78-year-old man suffered fatal injuries after he was crossing the Tampa Road and Burbank Road junction and was struck by a Toyota Camry Friday.

This collision was reported before noon, as indicated in an ABC Action News report. Pinellas County deputies said the driver — 68-year-old Pascalia Mbetera — was driving east on Tampa Road when he struck the pedestrian using a roller walker to cross the road.

The pedestrian, who was identified as Frank Adams, was sent to a hospital where he later died.

It is unclear if Mbetera will face charges. However, officials did confirm that speed and impairment were no contributing factors in this collision.
