News: Impaired driver rams into Sarasota home

SARASOTA, FL – A 58-year-old man was impaired when he crashed his pickup truck into a home near Phillippi Creek Levee Trail Sunday. 

This collision happened at the Bahia Vista Street and South Conrad Avenue junction, and officials were dispatched to the scene around 7:30 a.m., according to My Sun Coast News

The motorist, who was identified as Timothy Hunter, sustained non-life-threatening wounds and was sent to Sarasota Memorial Hospital. 

Hunter was booked into the Sarasota County Jail and is “facing DUI and property damage charges.” 

The homeowner, who is an Indiana resident, was not home at the time of the collision. However, he does plan to return for home repairs.
