NEW PORT RICHEY, FL – A driver of a Ford Escape caused a crash when he failed to stop at a New Port Richey junction before fleeing the scene Sunday.

This collision was reported before 12:30 p.m. at the De Cubellis Road & Ridge Road intersection, along the Village Oaks Shopping Center, ABC Action News revealed.

The Ford truck driver continued traveling north on De Cubellis after hitting the Nissan Altima. The Nissan motorist, a 66-year-old man, escaped sustained wounds. The suspect, who was described as having a cast on his left arm and a cobra tattoo on his right leg, then failed to negotiate a curve. As a result, his car rolled over several times, and he fled the scene on foot after it came to rest.

Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the exact details of this collision and has not provided more information at this time.
