News: Crash involving motorcycle, FHP patrol car kills man

WIMAUMA, FL – A man operating a motorcycle struck a Florida Highway Patrol vehicle, leading him to suffer fatal injuries Saturday. 

ABC Action News said this crash happened after 10 p.m. in the area of U.S. 301 and Ayersworth Glen Boulevard when the motorcyclist struck the marked FHP patrol car. Prior to this collision, a Hillsborough County Deputy initiated a traffic stop. 

Officials declined to specify why the stop was pursued. They did say that they, along with paramedics, conducted CPR on the motorcyclist. They pursued their best efforts to save the man. Unfortunately, he passed away at the scene. 

The deputy was unharmed. An investigation was launched. No other information is available.
