News: 1 dead, 1 injured in head-on crash on I-75

TAMPA, FL – One man was killed and another was rushed to the hospital following a wrong-way crash in east Tampa on Friday morning.

According to WFLA, the crash occurred when a vehicle entered the I-75 exit ramp at SR-574 traveling the wrong direction and slammed head-on into a van.

The wrong-way driver, a 36-year-old Tampa man, was extricated from his burning vehicle and rushed to a nearby hospital, where he died a short time later.

The other driver involved, a 49-year-old man from Riverview, was also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
