LAKELAND, FL – According to FOX 13, one person is dead following a hit-and-run collision on West Highland Street near South Wabash Avenue on Monday.
An adult died in the wreck. Officials have not provided information about the victim or driver.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
LAKELAND, FL – A man died in a single-vehicle collision on eastbound Interstate 4 near West Memorial Boulevard on Tuesday, according to FOX 13.
Nathan Michael Quinn, 45, was driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck east on Interstate 4 when he began to drive erratically and lost control of the truck. He then started to fishtail and went onto the right shoulder, where he began to spin until he flipped back onto the eastbound lanes of Interstate 4 around 2:30 a.m.
First responders pronounced Quinn dead at the scene.
AUBURNDALE, FL – According to ABC Action News, a driver fatally collided with a motorcyclist at Magnolia Avenue and McKean Street on Saturday.
A sedan driver and the motorcyclist were heading west on Magnolia Avenue when they crashed near McKean Street around 12:41 a.m.
The motorcyclist was thrown from the bike during the wreck.
LAKE WALES, FL – According to FOX 13, one person was hurt in a wrong-way collision on Florida 60 near Story Road on Tuesday morning.
A 58-year-old man was driving a Ford Escape west on Florida 60 when he strayed into the eastbound lanes and collided head-on with a 25-year-old driving a Jeep Wrangler around 5 a.m.
First responders transported the Esdcape driver to an area hospital with critical injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
DAVENPORT, FL – According to ABC Action News, a driver struck and killed a motorcyclist near Interstate 4 and US 27 early Saturday morning.
A man was riding a blue Suzuki motorcycle with a woman passenger when he took the exit from westbound Interstate 4 to southbound US 27 around 2:45 a.m.
The driver of a white Toyota Tundra was exiting a motel on Interstate 4 when he collided with the motorcyclist.
LAKELAND, FL – First responders airlifted a woman to a hospital, where she later died after a fiery collision that happened in Lakeland Tuesday, WTSP reports.
Florida Highway Patrol said the events unraveled when the woman lost control of her car while driving on the Kathleen Road off-ramp, which led to I-4. She veered off the ramp and crashed into a guardrail and wall, which caused her car to catch on fire.
Troopers identified the woman as a 36-year-old from Plant City.
LAKELAND, FL – A 28-year-old male motorcyclist lost his life after colliding with a left-turning FedEx truck Monday, Fox 13 News said.
The collision happened around 4:30 p.m. on Tom Costine Road. Polk County deputies said the motorcyclist was traveling behind the truck. The biker, Brandon Bailey, tried to pass the truck by crossing double yellow lines in a no-pass zone. Bailey’s attempt was unsuccessful, and he ended up striking the truck, turning into a private driveway.
EMS crews rushed Bailey to a local hospital, where he suffered fatal injuries.
LAKELAND, FL – A box truck driver who turned right onto Main Street struck a male pedestrian walking, sending the walker to a hospital where he later passed away Thursday.
The collision happened around 3:45 a.m. while the pedestrian was walking on a lane on northbound Combee Road, according to Fox13News.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the driver was unharmed and remained at the scene. They suspect the driver will not face charges.
