News: Speeding driver dies when car hits wall, overturns in Tampa

by

TAMPA, FL – A man in his early 20s was said to have been speeding when he crashed into a side wall, leading his car to overturn and to his death Thursday.

Police told WFLA that this collision occurred after midnight when the driver, the sole occupant, tried to exit on the off-ramp and then collided with the wall on South Dale Mabry Highway (between Gandy Boulevard and South Church Avenue).

The impact led the car to roll over and land on its roof and the man to succumb to fatal wounds at the scene.

Officers shut down all of the southbound lanes for their investigation and for the scene clearance process before reopening all lanes around 5 a.m.
