News: Ranger hurt in rear-end crash caused by suspected DUI driver

NEAR PLANT CITY, FL – A 44-year-old road ranger sustained minor injuries when his vehicle was rear-ended by a 24-year-old driver who was allegedly impaired Friday. 

The collision happened around 1:45 p.m. on I-4, according to Bay News 9, when a 24-year-old man proceeded to drive through westbound lanes, which were closed due to a previous collision. 

Deputies said they arrived to find the 24-year-old man, Vladislav Viktor Sushchik, walking away from the collision site. 

Sushchik was detained and taken to Lakeland Regional Hospital for treatment of minor wounds. He has been charged with DUI and driving with a suspended license. 

The road ranger was not sent to a hospital.
