News: Pedestrian seriously hurt in hit-and-run in Plant City

PLANT CITY, FL – A pedestrian sustained serious injuries after he was struck by a pickup truck driver who then fled the scene on FL 574 around 8:40 p.m. Saturday.

WTSP said the unidentified pedestrian was sent to a hospital for treatment. 

The Chevrolet Silverado driver — 27-year-old Mauro Alfanso Caalmaez of Plant City — returned to the scene two hours later. He was arrested and charged with “leaving the scene of a crash with serious injury and driving with no license.”
