News: Pedestrian killed in Plant City hit-and-run crash

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL – A pedestrian’s life was claimed in a hit-and-run collision on the 4000 block of Airport Road in Plant City before 7:30 a.m. Sunday. 

Tampa Bay Times said that the male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, and his name and age have not been released at this time. Plant City Police said that the vehicle that hit the man was a Jeep Grand Cherokee, with damage sustained in the collision. Police have found and identified the suspect — 27-year-old Miguel Rodriguez — and arrested him. 

Rodriguez’s charges consist of “leaving the scene of a crash involving death and driving while license suspended involving death or serious bodily injury.”
