News: Man charged after fatal 4th of July hit-and-run crash in Brandon

BRANDON, FL – A 21-year-old male driver, who was suspected of impairment, was arrested and charged after causing a fatal hit-and-run crash on the Fourth of July. 

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office told Fox13 News that the events unfolded before 5 a.m., when the 21-year-old man had run a red light at the intersection of Bloomingdale Avenue. and Providence Road. Deputies said he was speeding, which led him to crash into another vehicle. The driver immediately fled the scene and was later found and arrested by county deputies. 

The male driver has since been identified as Roberto Carlos Meza Rosales, a man from Honduras. Rosales will be charged with leaving the scene of a crash that resulted in death.
