NORTH TAMPA, FL – A male pedestrian lost his life after getting struck by a CSX train while crossing the intersection of West Busch Boulevard and North Florida Avenue Saturday.
WTSP said the pedestrian collision happened around 10:45 p.m. when the train was traveling west from North Florida Avenue and struck the pedestrian. Authorities issued a several-hour-long shutdown for the investigation and clean-up process.
During the closures, drivers were asked to avoid the area.
The victim’s identity has not been disclosed at this time.
