News: Hit-and-run suspect fatally strikes moped operator in Tampa

TAMPA, FL – A 38-year-old man driving a 2007 Dodge Charger fled the scene after he struck a moped operator, which claimed their life Friday. 

ABC Action News said this crash happened before 4 a.m. on East Hillsborough Avenue. Both the suspect, identified as Nicholas Harrison, who was later arrested, was going east, as was the moped operator when both collided with each other. 

Police said the moped got stuck inside the front of the Dodge before getting removed. Police were able to find Harrsion’s vehicle, which led them to him when Harrison turned himself in. 

Authorities then booked Harrison into Orient Road Jail.
