News: Head-on crash in Wimauma claims 5 lives

by

WIMAUMA, FL – Five people lost their lives after a Toyota Tacoma driver had traveled west on SR-674, leading to a head-on with two vehicles on Sunday.

It is not immediately clear why the 29-year-old man (the driver of the Toyota Tacoma) had gone into the opposite lanes, WTSP said. A Chevy Silverado pickup truck was struck first. Then, a Chevy S-10 driver behind the Silverado struck debris from the initial crash and crashed into a ditch after trying to avoid the collision.

The Chevy S-10 driver and one passenger from the Silverado truck were unharmed, while a 40-year-old occupant from the Silverado was seriously hurt.

Aside from the Toyota Tacoma driver, the Chevy Silverado driver (a 42-year-old man) and three passengers from the Tacoma — a 23-year-old man, a 37-year-old woman, and a 38-year-old woman — all succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene.
