News: Driver fatally strikes male pedestrian in Tampa

TAMPA, FL – A man lost his life in a fatal pedestrian crash in the Highland Pines Park area Friday morning, WFLA reports. 

The pedestrian was struck by the car while crossing the intersection of North 50th Street and East 23rd Avenue around 5 a.m. Tampa police said the male driver swerved in an attempt to avoid hitting the walker but could not. 

Moments later, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries. 

The driver stayed at the accident scene and cooperated with the police. There were no mentions of charges at this time. Officers are actively investigating the details behind this deadly collision.
