News: Driver fails to yield, fatally hits motorcyclist in Riverview

RIVERVIEW, FL – A 29-year-old man operating a motorcycle lost his life after he was struck by a driver of a Nissan Frontier who failed to yield to traffic Sunday. 

Florida Highway Patrol told WFLA that this collision happened when the motorcyclist was entering Gibsonton Drive from the I-75 exit. After the vehicles collided, the biker succumbed to fatal wounds while the Nissan driver, a 59-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries. 

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, who also responded to the scene, shut down northbound I-75 and eastbound Gibsonton for the investigation and for the scene clearance process.
