News: 1 critically hurt in collision with chemical spill in Lithia

LITHIA, FL – One person was left in critical condition after a two-vehicle collision that resulted in pool chemicals being spilled onto the road Thursday.

WTSP said the two-vehicle collision occurred after 8:30 a.m. in the area of Nichols Road and East Keysville Road and called for lane closures and a response from the Hazardous Incidents Team. At the time of reporting, crews were seen removing the chemicals, including chlorine, muriatic acid, and cyanuric acid.

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue also responded to the accident scene. At this time, fire crews have not disclosed the exact cause of the crash.
