News: Failure to maintain lane leads to crash that injures 5 in Sarasota 

SARASOTA, FL – A truck driver failed to maintain his lane, causing him to crash into an SUV and leaving him and four others with serious injuries Tuesday. 

The two-vehicle collision happened after 1 p.m. on State Road 780, according to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. Florida Highway Patrol said the pickup truck driver had driven in the westbound direction, drifted off the road, and then crashed into the SUV. 

Troopers identified the pickup truck driver as a 28-year-old local to Sarasota and the SUV driver as a woman from Sarasota. The woman had three teenage passengers with her, who were identified as a 13-year-old boy, a 16-year-old boy, and a 16-year-old girl. 

Troopers did not reveal any citations or charges after the two-vehicle collision.
